Eadie, John (Editor). The Illustrated National Family Bible. [circa 1870].
Condition report:
The binding shows significant wear to the leather spine, which is peeling and torn at both the head and tail, exposing an underlying orange-coloured secondary structural layer. There is rubbing to the gilt decoration on the spine and covers, particularly at the edges. The brass hardware remains intact and functional, though it shows surface oxidation and tarnishing consistent with age. Internally, the pages exhibit light age-toning and minor foxing, primarily restricted to the margins. The text block remains soundly bound, and the colour plates retain their brightness.
