The top is mounted on an ornate gilt-metal base, likely brass or brass-plated cast metal, which features four cabriole legs decorated with acanthus leaf and scroll motifs in relief. A small white adhesive label with the handwritten characters W1201 is present on the upper surface of the onyx. No manufacturer marks are visible on the piece.
