This collection of vintage model railway equipment consists of items from British manufacturers Hornby-Dublo and Tri-ang Hornby. The locomotives include a Tri-ang Hornby 2-6-4T tank locomotive in British Railways black livery, bearing the running number 80054, constructed from die-cast metal and plastic. Also present is a small, gold-finished industrial steam tank locomotive with Western Wharves printed on the side tanks, held within a green box base. A further black locomotive chassis or body shell is included, which is partially disassembled and contained in a clear plastic bag. The rolling stock features a group of five goods wagons, comprising four brown ventilated vans and one grey-green open wagon, some of which bear adhesive lot tags. A British Railways passenger coach in cream and crimson livery is housed in an original red Tri-ang Hornby window box. The assortment includes a large, aged Hornby-Dublo box lid titled The Perfect Miniature Railway with illustrations of an LNER streamlined locomotive and freight train. Additional items comprise an original red Tri-ang Hornby cardboard box from Rovex Industries Limited, a small wooden block with a printed locomotive illustration, and a small box containing assorted spare parts.
Condition report:
The collection is in used, play-worn condition. The large Hornby-Dublo box lid is in poor condition, exhibiting heavy shelf wear, structural damage to the corners, and is currently secured with twine. The locomotives and rolling stock show various degrees of paint wear, surface marks, and dust. The operational status of any internal motors or mechanisms has not been tested. Completeness of any original sets cannot be guaranteed as items are loose and boxes may not correspond to contents.
