Buyer's Premium:

A trio of antique scientific and navigational instruments, likely of British manufacture, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The collection comprises: An aneroid pocket barometer housed in a dark-patinated brass case. The silvered dial features weather indications including Stormy, Much Rain, Rain, Change, Fair, Set Fair, and Very Dry. The pressure scale is graduated from 27 to 31 inches of mercury with decimal subdivisions. It is marked Barometer and bears characters appearing to be A N T near the 4 o’clock position. The instrument features a black indicator needle and a brass-coloured reference hand, with a circular leather protective flap attached to the reverse. A pocket clinometer within a circular case finished in a black-textured coating, featuring two knurled brass adjustment screws. The dial is graduated in quadrants from 0 to 90 degrees and features a centrally pivoted blued steel needle. A pocket compass in a blackened metal case, featuring a compass card with cardinal and intercardinal points and an outer degree scale graduated in 10-degree increments. It is fitted with a blued steel needle with a fleur-de-lis indicating North and a folding sighting arm supporting two glass magnifying lenses.

Condition report:

The instruments show signs of age and use. The barometer exhibits surface wear to the case finish and minor spotting to the dial. The clinometer shows significant wear and loss to the exterior black finish, though the internal components appear intact. The compass is in overall good condition with minor loss to the blackened finish and clear optics. All items are mechanically untested.
