An assortment of mid-20th-century Boy Scout memorabilia, primarily comprising woven and embroidered cloth badges and a black forage cap, dating to circa the 1950s. The collection includes a black wool forage cap with three attached insignia: a shield-shaped Cheshire badge with a wheatsheaf, a thistle badge, and a silver-tone metal pin depicting a horse. A handwritten name strip for P.L. D.I. Chapman is present. The group features numerous embroidered UK regional county badges including Devon with a yellow gatehouse, Yorkshire with a white rose, Hampshire with a red rose and crown, Lancashire with a red rose, Northamptonshire, Kent with a white horse and Invicta motto, Durham with a yellow cross, and Essex with three seaxes. Commemorative items include two circular badges for the 1953 Coronation marked EIIR 1953, a Jubilee 1st Hawera Camporee 1909 1959 badge, a Baden-Powell centenary strip marked 1857 BP 1957, and pennant-style badges for the Cornish Jamborette at Weeford Park, August 1957. A small white strip for 1st Brymbo and general Boy Scouts title strips are also included. Paper ephemera consists of a large buff-coloured luggage tag printed with 3 Cornwall Scout Camp Weeford Park Canwell Sutton Coldfield Birmingham Destination Station-Four Oaks. Most badges are stored in individual or grouped protective plastic sleeves.


Condition report:

The items are in good vintage condition. The cloth badges are generally well-preserved with minimal evidence of fading or fraying. The forage cap shows some compression from storage but remains intact. The paper luggage tag exhibits minor age-related discolouration and creasing. The plastic storage sleeves show general surface wear.
