This lot consists of a collection of decorative elephant figurines executed in various sizes and styles, reminiscent of traditional Indian ceremonial caparisons. The figurines are primarily constructed from cast resin or similar composite materials, finished with a range of surface decorations. One large cream-toned elephant features extensive gold-tone filigree detailing accented with multi-coloured faceted paste gemstones. Another taller specimen in a dark finish is decorated with silver-tone patterns and mirror-work (shisha) inlay. The collection includes various other figurines in both dark and cream bases, adorned with decorative blankets in vibrant orange, purple, and gold tones, further embellished with applied beads and faux jewellery elements. The elephants are depicted in multiple stances, including standing and walking postures with varied trunk positions. No maker’s marks or manufacturer’s stamps are visible on the items.
Condition report:
The collection is in overall good condition. Minor instances of surface dust and light wear are present. There may be occasional small losses to the applied decorative elements, such as beads or paste stones, commensurate with the nature of the items and handling.
