Buyer's Premium:

A group of decorative items primarily featuring safari and jungle motifs, likely produced for the mid-to-late 20th-century export market. The collection includes a pair of wooden vases with high-relief hand-carved depictions of elephants amongst palm trees and tropical foliage. Also present is a carved wooden bust of a male figure with an elongated, textured coiffure and stylized facial features, bearing a small adhesive tag with the handwritten characters f7026. The group further comprises a decorated egg, likely an ostrich egg, featuring a printed safari scene with a lion, elephant, and Cape buffalo. Additional items include a dark-toned elephant figurine with a quilted caparison standing on a rectangular plinth with foliate carving, and a stylized wooden seated elephant with painted black accents on the ears, trunk, and feet.

Condition report:

The collection shows signs of age-related wear and handling throughout. Observable issues include minor surface scuffs, scratches, and small chips to the high-relief carvings on the vases and the wooden bust. The printed motif on the egg shows light surface wear. There is a general accumulation of dust and minor grime within the recessed areas of the carvings.
