Two vintage steel cantilever toolboxes, one finished in blue hammered-effect paint and the second in grey. Both boxes feature a five-tray expanding design with twin carrying handles that meet to form a single grip. The blue toolbox remains empty and shows an indistinct embossed maker mark on the interior of the top-left lid. The grey toolbox contains a varied assortment of domestic and workshop hand tools. Included in the contents are a claw hammer, a vintage handsaw with a red plastic handle, a utility knife, and a wide selection of screwdrivers with both vintage wooden and modern moulded plastic handles. Further items comprise a pair of orange-handled pincers, several pairs of scissors, pliers, a hand brush, a metal rule, and lengths of rope and twine.
Condition report:
Both toolboxes show signs of age and significant use. The blue box has scattered surface rust and paint loss, particularly along the edges and hinges, though the cantilever mechanism remains functional. The grey box exhibits heavy surface oxidation and rust across the lids and handles. The included tools are in used, as-found condition with varying degrees of wear, surface rust, and grime consistent with age and previous workshop environments.
