An extensive collection of assorted silver-plated hollowware, flatware, and table accessories. The lot includes a four-piece tea and coffee service comprising a teapot, coffee pot, lidded sugar bowl, and cream jug, all featuring gadrooned borders and ebonised composite handles and finials, presented on a matching twin-handled footed tray. Also included are two lidded entree dishes, one with a shell-and-scroll border and ornate removable handle; several trays and salvers, including a circular tray with a pierced gallery and a scalloped-edge salver; a five-division toast rack; a single candlestick with a beaded base; a small cream jug; and various condiment shakers. A substantial quantity of miscellaneous silver-plated and stainless steel flatware is present, including spoons, forks, and knives, some with celluloid or bone-effect handles. Additional items include a circular brass tray with chased geometric and figurative decoration, a white ceramic or resin basket with pierced lattice-work, a glass flower frog with a plated wire mesh lid, and a small decorative cardboard gift box. No hallmarks or maker’s marks are clearly legible; all silver-coloured items are catalogued as silver-plated.
Condition report:
Items show varying degrees of tarnish and surface wear throughout, consistent with age and use. Some loss of plating and exposure of base metal is likely on the hollowware and flatware.
