This pier mirror is designed in the Regency style, featuring an architectural giltwood frame. The structure includes a prominent, overhanging moulded cornice at the top and a matching moulded base. Both the upper and lower sections are embellished with decorative beaded or gadrooned borders. The central rectangular mirror plate is set flush to the side edges and is finished with a wide bevelled edge. The construction suggests a late 19th or early 20th-century production in the Neoclassical Revival taste.
Condition report:
The mirror plate is in generally good condition, displaying some light surface marking and evidence of minor silvering loss or foxing typical for its age. The gilt-finished frame shows age-consistent wear, including surface scuffing and accumulated dust within the moulded details. An adhesive paper label is present on the glass.
