A collection of primarily 20th-century British Catholic devotional objects and insignia. The group includes two English National Pilgrimage medals, featuring scalloped white enamel borders and central blue enamel rings with gilt lettering surrounding a religious figure. Also included is a small hexagonal red enamel badge with a gilt cross and the letters C and B, likely associated with a Catholic youth organisation such as the Catholic Boys’ Guild. The collection features a five-decade rosary with faceted brown beads, a silver-toned centre medal, and a crucifix with a wooden inlay and metal corpus. Further items include a bronze-toned Chi Rho cross pendant, an oval pendant with a red enamel ground depicting a religious figure, a simple dark-stained wooden cross, a metal crucifix with an INRI plaque mounted on wood, a small cross constructed from screw-like metal components, and a small beaded angel charm. Accompanying these items is a small circular lacquered box with a decorative lid.
Condition report:
The collection is in overall good used condition. Minor surface wear and tarnish are present on the metal components. The enamel on the badges remains largely intact. There are light signs of age and wear consistent with the use of personal devotional objects.
