An assortment of optical equipment and related accessories. The primary item is a spotting scope, the body of which is heavily wrapped in white towelling and secured with adhesive tape. The fitted eyepiece bears the Kowa maker’s mark and is inscribed MADE IN JAPAN. The lot includes a cardboard accessory box for a Kowa TSE-14WB spotting scope eyepiece. Also present is a Velbon CX 540 tripod with a tan and black finish, housed with its original retail box for the Velbon CX-500 series. A black leather accessory case is included, featuring the embossed Contax brand name on the front. Completing the group is a conical copper-alloy object, approximately 30-40cm in length, displaying a heavy green verdigris patina and fitted with a length of yellow braided rope, possibly a vintage maritime signal horn or megaphone.
Condition report:
The spotting scope is in a heavily field-modified state with the main body obscured by tape and towelling; consequently, the underlying mechanical and optical condition cannot be confirmed. The tripod appears to be in used but functional condition. The copper conical object shows significant oxidation, surface wear, and age-related patination. Cardboard packaging and the leather case show signs of shelf wear and use. The optical clarity and mechanical functions of the items have not been tested.
