A mid-20th-century two-piece display cabinet or bookcase on cupboard, constructed from mahogany with ribbon-stripe mahogany veneers. The upper section features two glass-fronted doors set within wooden frames, opening to reveal an interior with adjustable wooden shelves supported by notched vertical strips. The lower section comprises a solid two-door cupboard with matched vertical grain mahogany veneers. The entire unit is raised on four short, square tapered legs. The cabinet has a minimalist design with no external handles, featuring a single keyhole to the right-hand door of both the upper and lower sections. No maker’s marks or labels are visible.
Condition report:
Overall good condition with minor surface wear consistent with age and use. There are some light scratches and scuffs visible to the wood, most notably on the lower cupboard doors. Glazing remains intact. Interior shelving shows minor marking and dust. No visible signs of structural repair or restoration.
