A vintage Grundig RR 340 Stereo portable radio and cassette recorder, manufactured by the German electronics firm Grundig. The unit is housed in a brown moulded plastic cabinet featuring silver-tone metallic trim and speaker grilles. The front panel includes a linear analogue tuning scale for FM (88–108 MHz), MW (530–1600 kHz), and LW (150–350 kHz) bands, alongside a front-loading cassette deck with an automatic stop feature. A mechanical three-digit tape counter is positioned to the left of the tuning dial. Top-mounted controls include silver-finished piano-key style buttons for tape operations (PAUSE, STOP/CASS., rewind, fast forward, START, and REC), rotary knobs for volume and tone, and slide switches for function selection (RADIO-CASS), band selection (LW-MW-FM), and stereo modes (SUPER STEREO, STEREO, MONO). The unit is equipped with twin integrated speakers and a top carrying handle. Transcription of marks on the front panel include GRUNDIG, RR 340 STEREO, and FM-AM STEREO-RADIO-CASSETTE-RECORDER.
Condition report:
The cabinet displays surface dust and minor surface wear consistent with age and use. All primary buttons and control knobs appear to be present. The unit is fitted with an attached power cable. The telescopic antenna is partially visible at the rear. The item is offered in used condition; internal components and functionality for radio reception and cassette playback/recording have not been tested.
