Buyer's Premium:

This collection comprises multiple volumes from two distinct series published by The Folio Society, London. The first group consists of several novels by Jane Austen, including Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Persuasion, Northanger Abbey, Shorter Works, Emma, and Mansfield Park. These volumes are bound in mauve publisher’s cloth with decorative gilt-stamped spines featuring titles, author name, and various symbolic motifs. The title page for Sense and Sensibility identifies the publication date as 1975, with an introduction by Richard Church and wood-engravings by Joan Hassall. The second group includes works by Charles Dickens, including Great Expectations, The Pickwick Papers, David Copperfield, Oliver Twist, and A Tale of Two Cities. These volumes are bound in cream-coloured publisher’s cloth with maroon spine labels and feature line-drawn character illustrations on the front boards. All volumes are octavo in format. The Folio Society imprint and logo are present on the spines and title pages.

Condition report:

The collection is in good vintage condition. The Jane Austen volumes exhibit light sun-fading to the cloth on the spines and minor rubbing to the extremities. The Charles Dickens volumes show some light surface wear and minor discolouration to the cream cloth. The internal pages appear clean, and the bindings remain tight. None of the volumes are accompanied by slipcases or dust jackets.
