An electric table lamp designed in the style of a late Victorian oil lamp. The lamp features a brass-finished metal pedestal base and a globular font section. It is fitted with a large, white milk glass (opal glass) spherical globe shade and a tall, clear glass chimney. The burner assembly has been converted for electrical use and is fitted with a standard lamp holder. The item is wired with a modern white twin-core plastic flex and a UK-standard 3-pin plug. While there is a thumbwheel present on the burner assembly, any original manufacturer’s inscriptions or maker’s marks are not clearly legible.
Condition report:
The lamp is in good overall condition. There is visible surface tarnishing, pitting, and oxidation to the brass-finished metal base and font consistent with age and use. The milk glass globe and the clear glass chimney appear to be intact without any obvious cracks or significant chips. The electrical components are modern, but as with all second-hand electrical goods, this item should be PAT tested by a qualified professional before being put into service.
