Buyer's Premium:

A collection of coins featuring UK pre-decimal currency and international issues, presented with two leather purses and a commemorative book. The UK coinage includes copper-alloy pennies with the obverse portraits of King George V and King George VI. A cupro-nickel 1953 Coronation crown is present alongside various international coins, including a holed denomination and a 100 denomination piece. The 1953 Coronation crown was struck to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II and was the first commemorative issue of her reign.

The lot includes a small money box, gold-tooled on the front cover with a royal crown above Elizabeth R 1953 and text reading BY THE MAYOR OF. Storage includes a worn brown leather zippered wallet and a patterned red-brown leather snap-closure coin purse containing multiple large-format copper-alloy coins.


Condition report:

All items are in circulated condition. The coins exhibit typical wear, surface marks, and toning consistent with age and use. Significant oxidation and verdigris are present on several copper-alloy pieces. The leather pouches show heavy wear, scuffing, and loss of finish. The commemorative money box shows minor wear to the edges.
