An antique 9 carat yellow gold presentation medal or watch fob manufactured by William Hair Haseler. The circular medallion features a decorative scrolled and foliate border surrounding a central raised shield-shaped cartouche. The shield is engraved with an inscription including the words SALISBURY and LEY BROS. The reverse depicts a stylised fleur-de-lis motif with the letters S C above it. Hallmarks are struck to the lower edge of the obverse including 9, .375, an anchor symbol for the Birmingham assay office, a date letter, and the maker’s mark W.H.H. The piece is fitted with a simple suspension bale.
