Buyer's Premium:

This collection includes several antique silver and vanity pieces from the Victorian and Edwardian periods. Item one is an Edwardian silver-mounted glass scent bottle of square section with a cut or pressed pattern. It features an embossed sterling silver collar and a decorative screw-top cap, retaining its original inner glass stopper. The collar is hallmarked with the maker mark L and S for Levi and Salaman, the lion passant, the Birmingham anchor, and the date letter a for 1900. Item two is a late Victorian folding fruit knife with a carved mother-of-pearl handle featuring floral and geometric patterns and an oval cartouche engraved with the initials EH. The sterling silver blade bears the maker mark T.M for Thomas Marples, a crown, the lion passant, and the Sheffield date letter u for 1912. Item three is an Edwardian sterling silver teaspoon of plain form with a terminal knop. The back of the bowl is hallmarked with the maker mark J.W.B for John William Barrett, the lion passant, the London leopard head, and the date letter o for 1909. Item four is a Victorian repoussé silver cap or knob with heavily embossed foliate and scrollwork decoration. It is hallmarked on the neck with the maker mark W.C for William Comyns, the lion passant, the London leopard head, and the date letter E for 1900. Item five is an ornate silver spoon, possibly a caddy spoon, featuring a twisted stem handle with an ornate knop and a bowl decorated with foliate scrolls. Hallmarks on the stem are worn, though a lion passant is distinguishable. Item six is a novelty folding pocket comb with a white-metal handle modelled as a bird of prey head with a red glass or paste eye. The handle has a textured brown grip and an engraved feather terminal, while the comb is constructed from a faux-ivory or celluloid material. No hallmarks are visible on the comb.

Condition report:

The scent bottle is in good antique condition with minor age-appropriate tarnish to the silver. The mother-of-pearl handle on the fruit knife is intact, but the silver blade shows significant oxidation and surface corrosion. The teaspoon exhibits light surface scratching and tarnish. The repoussé silver cap is in good condition with deep tarnish highlighting the decoration. The ornate spoon shows significant tarnish and wear to the hallmarks. The novelty comb is in fair condition with some missing or damaged teeth and wear to the finish on the handle.
