Estimated price: £10 - £30

Buyer's Premium:

A Belgian machine-woven 100% wool rug from the Rumak collection by Louis De Poortere. The rug is constructed with a dense pile of pure combed new wool. The design features a traditional compartmentalised arrangement with a central field divided into rectangular panels containing stylised geometric patterns. These panels are enclosed by multiple decorative borders with repeating floral and geometric motifs. The colour palette is composed of olive green, mustard yellow, dark brown, and cream tones. The rug is finished with a white cotton fringe at each end. The reverse of the rug retains its original manufacturer labels. The primary label features the collection name RUMAK and the text 100% PURE LAINE PEIGNEE (100% pure combed wool), accompanied by the Louis De Poortere LDP logo within a stylised house-shaped frame. A secondary label displays the Woolmark symbol and the text PURE NEW WOOL with its French, Dutch, and German translations. A circular stamp on the main label reads MOTTEN ECHT DURCH EULAN BAYER LEVERKUSEN, indicating the rug underwent the Eulan mothproofing process by Bayer.

Condition report:

The rug is in good overall condition with the wool pile remaining intact and colours vibrant. There is minor tangling to the cotton fringe. The reverse displays some light yellowing and adhesive residue from the original labels.
