Buyer's Premium:

An assortment of decorative ceramics comprising various styles, predominantly of 20th-century origin. The collection includes a porcelain commemorative mug for the 1937 coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, featuring transfer-printed portrait medallions, heraldic motifs, and text. Also included is an Art Deco style geometric vase of fan or shield shape, decorated with hand-painted panels in pink, yellow, blue, and orange; the base is incised with the number 1494 and the word ENGLAND.

The oriental decorative ware features a hand-painted porcelain Budai (Laughing Buddha) figurine depicted with five children, a porcelain teapot with a gilt hexagonal honeycomb pattern and wicker-wrapped overhead handle, a pair of porcelain figurines in traditional dress with conical hats, and a stack of yellow-ground floral porcelain bowls with a matching spoon.

Animal-themed items include a porcelain group of two foxes playing on a log, mounted on a polished wooden plinth, and a set of three small painted ceramic collie-style dog figurines. The lot also contains two porcelain trinket pots with lids featuring encrusted hand-modelled floral blossoms in pink, yellow, and blue.

Studio and hand-painted tableware includes a ceramic set comprising a tray and two handleless cups with fruit and leaf motifs, two white ceramic mugs with floral sprigs, and a large cream-coloured earthenware pitcher with incised sgraffito floral decoration. Additional items include an egg-shaped ceramic incense burner or pomander with pierced holes and orange and black flame-like decoration, a pale green glazed lidded pot with a silver-toned metal finial, a rustic pierced ceramic pot, and a ceramic mushroom figurine.

Condition report:

The items generally appear to be in good condition. Minor wear to the gilding is evident on the coronation mug and the teapot. The encrusted floral blossoms on the trinket pot lids may have small, typical chips to the delicate petals. No major cracks, large chips, or obvious repairs are visible.
