A collection of vintage decorative objects and smoking accessories, in the style of mid-twentieth century stone ware, crafted from natural banded onyx and gilt metal. The group comprises a table lighter of egg-shaped form with a hinged lid mounted on a stepped pedestal base, a rectangular trinket box with a hinged lid and decorative cast metal feet, two twin-handled urn-style vases with flared rims and turned metal bases, a circular ashtray featuring a gilt metal rim and cigarette rest, a solid polished stone egg, and carved animal figurines. The onyx displays characteristic banding in various tones of pale green, honey, and cream. The metal components exhibit a gold-tone finish. No maker’s marks or factory stamps are visible on any of the stone or metal components.
Condition report:
The collection is in generally good vintage condition. There is visible surface wear and oxidation to the gilt metal elements, particularly around the rims and bases. The stone components show natural inclusions and surface abrasions consistent with use. The hinges on the lighter and box remain functional. Minor tarnishing to the metal interior of the vases and oxidation to the lighter mechanism is present.
