An assortment of vintage items comprising a glass soda syphon, two mid-century mantel clocks, and a mounted taxidermy specimen. The soda syphon features a glass body encased in a traditional metal wire mesh lattice, topped with a chrome-plated head, dispensing lever, and a threaded gas inlet with a chain-retained cap. The two mantel clocks are produced by the British manufacturer Metamec. The first features a rectangular case with wooden end panels and a black dial with white baton markers and numerals. The second clock is designed with a pearlescent-effect plastic front and a circular dial with Arabic numerals. Both clocks have been modified with modern quartz battery-operated movements on the reverse. The taxidermy mount consists of a roebuck deer skull with antlers, fixed to a shaped and dark-stained wooden plaque. Visible markings include the Metamec name and Made in England on the clock faces, with one clock retaining a Metamec 8 Day paper label on the rear panel.
Condition report:
The items show signs of age-related wear and use throughout. The soda syphon exhibits oxidation and pitting to the chrome-plated metalwork. The clocks show surface marks, dust, and adhesive residue on the reverse of the wooden case; please note the original movements have been replaced with modern quartz units and functionality is not guaranteed. The taxidermy mount is generally sound, with minor scuffs and paint wear to the edges of the wooden plaque.
