A traditional English domestic fireplace kettle in the Victorian style. The item features a bulbous wrought copper body and a fixed handle arrangement. The handle consists of scrolled cast brass uprights supporting a central cylindrical copper grip. The stepped, domed lid is fitted with a cast brass acorn-style finial. The kettle is completed with a graceful swan-neck spout. The base has been covered with a circular green felt protective pad.
Condition report:
The kettle is presented in a polished state. The copper surface exhibits minor bruising, several small indentations, and light surface scratches consistent with domestic use and age. Areas of oxidation and minor pitting are visible, particularly near the base and along the seams. The green felt pad on the underside is a later addition. Overall in good decorative order.
