An Olivetti Lettera 32 manual portable typewriter, featuring a teal blue metal body. Designed by Marcello Nizzoli and first introduced in 1963, this example features a QWERTY keyboard layout that includes a British pound sterling symbol. A small gold-tone plaque situated above the keyboard is inscribed with the lowercase text olivetti followed by lettera 32 in italics. The top casing displays an embossed square geometric logo on the right side. The machine is housed within its original dark teal hard-shell carrying case, which is fitted with a black plastic handle and metal latches. The interior contains yellow foam padding.
Condition report:
The typewriter shows visible signs of age and previous use. There is significant paint chipping and loss along the front and side edges of the metal casing. The interior foam padding is heavily degraded, brittle, and crumbling. The exterior carrying case exhibits surface scuffing, minor staining, and wear consistent with age. Metal latches show some surface oxidation. The mechanical functionality of the keys and carriage has not been tested, although a ribbon is present.
