This lot consists of two pieces of oak furniture from the Old Charm range by Wood Bros. The first piece is a pedestal dressing table with a central swing mirror. The mirror is housed in an arched frame between turned uprights with decorative finials. The base unit features a single long drawer with blind-fretwork carving and a purple floral fabric lining, situated above a central pair of cupboard doors. This central section is flanked by two side pedestals, each containing a single-door cupboard with an internal shelf. The second piece is a matching bedside cabinet with an open upper shelf over a single cupboard door. Both items are constructed from oak with a medium-to-dark polished finish and are decorated with relief-carved gothic-style pointed arch panels. The pieces are fitted with darkened metal ring-pull handles and decorative strap-style hinges. A brass diamond-shaped maker’s plaque for Old Charm Furniture, Wood Bros is fixed to the dressing table.
Condition report:
The dressing table remains in generally good condition with minor surface scuffs and wear consistent with age and use, particularly to the finish along the base and edges. The bedside cabinet is in fair condition, notable for a circular liquid mark on the surface of the internal shelf within the open compartment, along with general surface wear.
