This lot features two early 20th-century tables of different styles. The first is an oak gateleg drop-leaf table in the Jacobean Revival style. It has a three-section top with a decorative scalloped pie-crust edge. The base is constructed with eight spiral-turned barley-twist legs, two of which serve as gates to support the leaves. The legs are joined by square-section stretchers and terminate in bun feet. The second item is a mahogany circular occasional table in the Edwardian Sheraton Revival style. The top is finished with a delicate inlaid boxwood stringing border. It stands on four slender tapered legs which are connected by a shaped X-stretcher supporting a central circular under-tier.
Condition report:
The oak gateleg table shows significant wear to the top surface, including prominent water marks, staining, and areas of finish loss. There is general scuffing and age-related wear to the legs and stretchers. The mahogany table is in fair condition overall, showing some light surface scratches and minor dullness to the polished finish on the top, with minor scuffs to the legs.
