A mid-20th-century storage work table of rectangular form, constructed from stained hardwood, possibly oak. The top features rounded edges and is hinged, opening on a metal stay to reveal a deep, undivided interior compartment. The exterior of the box section is decorated with horizontal recessed grooving to all four sides. The piece is raised on four square-section straight legs, which are joined by a single lower stretcher shelf. This style is often associated with mid-century manufacturers such as the Honderich Furniture Company.
