A traditional long-reach garden watering can constructed from galvanised sheet steel. The piece features an elongated spout with a vertical reinforcing brace and a tubular top carrying handle. The shoulder of the can is incised with the capacity mark 1 1/2, likely denoting one and a half gallons, alongside other characters that are not clearly legible. The vessel is fitted with a removable copper rose spray head. The body exhibits a visible spangle pattern characteristic of a hot-dip galvanised finish. Construction includes rolled seams and a flat base.
Condition report:
In an aged and weathered condition consistent with prolonged outdoor use. There is widespread surface oxidation, dulling, and staining to the galvanised finish. The copper rose exhibits a heavy green verdigris patina. Minor dents, scuffs, and surface wear are present throughout the body and spout.
