The work depicts a woman with a dark 1960s bouffant hairstyle positioned behind a textured tree trunk in a sylvan setting. The composition uses a moody colour palette of deep greens and earthy browns to contrast with the subject’s luminous skin tones. The print bears the signature J. H. LYNCH in the lower right corner. It is housed in a period ornate gilt-finished composite frame featuring scrolling foliate and beaded borders.
Condition report:
The item is in fair vintage condition. There is a significant accumulation of surface dirt and dust on both the frame and the glazing. A faint vertical line is visible on the left side of the image, which may be a mark on the glazing or a crease in the underlying print. The frame shows minor wear and small losses to the gilt finish consistent with age and handling.
