This collection comprises an assortment of maritime and urban themed artworks in various media. The group includes two harbour scene watercolours on paper. One depicts Exeter Quay and is signed lower right J FISHERWOOD, with a corresponding typed label on the verso. the second depicts a scene in Falmouth and is signed lower right Tony Fisher, with a verso label identifying the subject as THE QUAY, FALMOUTH. These watercolours are housed in reddish-brown marbled-effect frames with gilt-tone inner slips. Also included are two black and white line drawings on paper by G. McCarthy, both dated 1992. These depict Jersey subjects: Mont Orgueil Castle, Gorey Harbour and French Harbour, St Helier. Both are signed and dated by the artist and presented in matching greenish marbled-effect frames. The collection is completed by two colour posters titled Paris Naïf after the artist Bin Kashiwa, depicting La Place de l’Opéra and Plateau Beaubourg. These are commercial prints housed in wood-effect frames, with one bearing a framer’s label from M. J. Webb, Kingsbridge, South Devon.
Condition report:
The collection is in good overall condition. There is visible surface dust to the glazing and minor wear, scuffing, and abrasions to the frame corners and edges. The artworks themselves appear well-preserved within the frames, with no significant foxing, staining, or moisture damage apparent. Some minor toning is visible to the paper mounts.
