An expressive late 20th-century still-life drawing executed in heavy chalk or oil pastel on a dark-toned wove paper. The composition is highly abstracted, featuring a central dark vessel form amidst a flurry of gestural, hatched strokes in a palette of earthy oranges, greens, and browns. The work is signed to the lower right in a lime green medium and dated in the same medium to the lower left. The drawing is housed in a gilt wood frame with a wide brown card mount. A modern adhesive label on the glazing identifies the artist as Leonard Bennett. The work has not been examined out of the frame.
Signed lower right: Bennetts

Condition report:
Generally good condition. The paper appears stable with no obvious signs of foxing or staining. The frame shows some minor wear and scattered losses to the gilding, revealing the red bolster beneath.
