Start price: £5

Estimated price: £5 - £10

Buyer's Premium:

A one-piece display cabinet or bookcase constructed from oak and oak veneers. The rectangular top with a moulded edge sits above a decorative frieze featuring a repeating carved lunette pattern. Two doors are fitted with leaded glass panels in an elongated hexagonal geometric arrangement, opening to reveal an interior with two shelves. The cabinet is fitted with decorative cast metal butterfly-style hinges and a central keyhole escutcheon. The unit stands on short block feet joined by a plain apron. This lot is for the cabinet only and does not include the ceramic thimbles or other contents shown in the images. The design is typical of the Jacobean revival style popular in the early 20th century.

Condition report:

The cabinet is in good structural condition. The top surface exhibits some light scratching, marks, and signs of use consistent with age. The leaded glazing appears to be intact and secure within the frames. There are minor scuffs to the block feet and lower apron.
