Buyer's Premium:

This lot comprises a vintage British-made portable record player and an assortment of mid-20th-century vinyl records. The Alba 209 phonograph is housed within a textured grey suitcase-style carrying case featuring a single metal latch and a stitched border. The interior deck is finished with a patterned cream and brown motif. The control panel is clearly marked with the brand and model alba 209. The unit is equipped with a four-speed selector knob offering 16, 33, 45, and 78 RPM settings, and a secondary dial for combined power and volume control, marked OFF VOLUME ON. The collection of vinyl records includes 10-inch LPs, EPs, and 45 RPM singles, primarily focused on classical, vocal, and religious music. Identified titles include Kathleen Ferrier: An Anthology, Decca Records (LW 5225); Mario Lanza: I’ll Walk With God, RCA Victor (RCA-1094); and Gordon Brattle: The Divine Signings of Gordon Brattle Number Two, Pilgrim Records (XPR 3020).

Condition report:

The exterior of the record player case shows general age-related wear, surface scuffing, and some oxidation to the metal hardware. Internally, the audio or power cable is disconnected with exposed red and black wire ends. The unit is sold in non-working condition and requires electrical inspection and repair before use. The vinyl record sleeves show significant signs of age and handling, including creasing, edge wear, staining, and notable tearing to the Mario Lanza 45 sleeve. The records themselves have not been inspected for surface damage or playback quality and are sold as seen.
