A collection of vintage-style model vehicles from the Matchbox Models of Yesteryear series, manufactured by Lesney Products and Matchbox International Ltd. The group features several commercial and private vehicles, including the Y-2 1914 Prince Henry Vauxhall in red and silver-grey, the Y-3 1912 Ford Model T in blue Express Dairy livery, the Y-3 1927 Talbot in yellow Taystee Bread livery, the Y-12 1912 Ford Model T in orange Hoover livery featuring a 75th Anniversary logo dated 1983, and the Y-13 1918 Crossley in red and black Coal and Coke livery. Each model is constructed with a die-cast metal body, plastic detailing, and rubber or plastic tyres. The vehicles are presented in their original cream-coloured window display boxes from the late 1970s and early 1980s production runs. Box headers feature the stylised models of yesteryear text with the circular Y logo, and the Matchbox brand mark is printed at the base of each window.
Condition report:
The vehicles appear to be in near-mint condition, remaining unused within their original packaging. The boxes show minor signs of shelf wear and age-related storage, with light creasing and scuffing to some of the cellophane windows. The cardboard packaging remains largely intact and presentable for display.
