A collection of six Matchbox Models of Yesteryear die-cast model vehicles, manufactured by Lesney Products & Co. Ltd. in England. Each vehicle is constructed from die-cast metal with plastic components and is housed in its original straw-coloured cardboard window box. The collection includes: a Y-5 1927 Talbot Van in dark green with Lipton’s Tea livery; a Y-6 1920 Rolls Royce Fire Engine in red featuring Borough Green & District livery and a gold-tone ladder; a Y-18 1937 Cord 812 in red with a white convertible top; a Y-21 1930 Ford Model A Van in brown and red with A & J Box General Stores livery; a Y-22 1930 Ford Model A Van in red with OXO livery featuring the slogan It’s Meat & Drink to You; and a Royal Mail Van in red with the GR monogram and crown. The box for the Royal Mail Van features French text at the base reading CONFORMITÉ AUX NORMES GARANTIE PAR LESNEY S.A. and a copyright date of 1978 on the reverse.
Condition report:
The vehicles appear to be in good, complete condition within their original packaging. The cardboard window boxes show signs of age-related shelf wear, including minor edge scuffing, light creasing, and surface dust. The clear plastic windows are intact but have light surface scratches.
