This lot comprises an assortment of issues of the British satirical magazine Punch, or The London Charivari. The primary visible issue is dated August 29, 1951, and is identified as Volume CCXXI, Number 5783. The magazine was published by the Punch Office at 10 Bouverie Street, London, E.C.4. The cover features the iconic illustrated design by Richard Doyle, rendered in a two-colour red and black print style. The central image depicts Mr. Punch seated at an easel sketching a crowned lion, accompanied by Toby the dog. This central scene is enclosed within an intricate border of whimsical figures, fairies, and grotesque characters. The cover price is marked as 6d in the upper corners. The items are staple-bound and are presented in individual protective plastic sleeves.
Condition report:
The magazines are in good vintage condition. The primary issue shows light age-related toning to the paper and minor wear along the edges. A vertical crease is visible running down the left side of the front cover. There are small instances of foxing and light marks present within the margins.
