Estimated price: £5 - £10

Buyer's Premium:

A collection of vintage 78 rpm shellac gramophone records, primarily housed in original or period paper sleeves. The prominent top record features a black and gold Rex record label, identifying the track as You Stepped Out of a Dream, a fox-trot from the 1941 film Ziegfeld Girl. The recording is credited to Jay Wilbur and His Band with a vocal chorus by Al O’Shea. Visible on the label are the catalogue number 10,078-A and the matrix number SL.4078. The records are of standard shellac construction typical of the mid-20th century. The collection is stored in a variety of brown paper sleeves, some of which feature period commercial printing and checkerboard patterns.

Condition report:

The records show signs of age and handling, including visible surface dust, light scuffs, and minor scratches. The top record has a small white adhesive price or inventory sticker applied to the label. The paper sleeves are in poor condition, exhibiting significant creasing, fraying, tearing, and loss at the edges. The items are sold as seen and have not been tested for playback quality.
