This lot comprises a circular side table and a matching carved elephant figurine, both crafted from a dark reddish-brown hardwood, likely sheesham or rosewood. The pieces are decorated in the traditional Hoshiarpur style with extensive white bone or synthetic inlay. The tabletop features a central elephant motif surrounded by concentric rings of floral and geometric patterns, with an outer border depicting eight walking elephants. The table is supported by three tapering legs, each featuring matching floral inlay, which are detachable from the top. The accompanying carved elephant figurine is similarly decorated with intricate dotted and foliate patterns. The base of the figurine retains a printed paper label reading Inlaid Wooden Artwares, Size 8, Made in India, with a handwritten reference H561.
Elephant height: 8 inches.
Condition report:
Both items are in good overall condition. There is minor surface wear and light scratching to the wood finish, consistent with age and domestic use. The inlay is largely intact across both the table and the figurine, with only very minor instances of loss or lifting to the small white segments. The table structure is stable.
