A partial tea and cake service manufactured from fine bone china by Royal Albert in the Old Country Roses pattern. The service comprises five tea trios consisting of five teacups, five saucers, and five side plates, together with a twin-handled sandwich plate, a small cream jug, and a two-tier cake stand. The cake stand consists of two graduated plates with central piercings and a gold-tone metal spindle handle. Each piece is decorated with transfer-printed floral sprays featuring deep red, tea-yellow, and pink roses amidst green foliage. The rims are finished with hand-applied gilded sponge-style scalloped edges. The base of the plates features a printed backstamp with a rose cluster above the script Old Country Roses, followed by block capitals ROYAL ALBERT, BONE CHINA, ENGLAND.
Condition report:
The service appears to be in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The gilding remains bright and well-preserved. The cake stand is currently disassembled. There may be minor surface scratches to the glaze or light wear to the gilding consistent with age and use.
