An Ercol mid-century modern two-part wall unit constructed from solid elm and beech. The upper section comprises an open-fronted bookcase featuring two fixed vertical dividers creating three storage compartments. The base section consists of a two-door sideboard with characteristic exposed dovetail joinery at the upper corners and integrated recessed wooden handles. The interior of the base is divided into two sections. The left side contains two adjustable wooden shelves. The right side is fitted with a sliding cutlery drawer with internal dividers, positioned above a record storage compartment with five vertical metal wire dividers. The entire unit is mounted on castors. A circular gold foil maker label is located on the interior of the right-hand door, inscribed MADE IN HIGH WYCOMBE BUCKINGHAMSHIRE ENGLAND surrounding the Ercol woodworker silhouette logo.
Condition report:
The unit is in overall good condition. There is light surface wear, minor scuffing, and shallow scratches consistent with age and domestic use. The wood grain remains prominent and the castors are functional.
