A large rectangular overmantle mirror featuring a dark-stained wood frame, possibly mahogany or oak. The frame is constructed with a moulded cornice top rail accented by a thin beaded border and transitions into a simple plinth-style base. Accompanied by an assortment of wall decor and decorative items. The collection includes a reproduction print of Bubbles after Sir John Everett Millais in a green-painted wooden frame, a Regency-style print depicting a couple within a floral garland border on a textured background, and a highland landscape print featuring cattle. Also included is a large contemporary-style floral study of white flowers and a butterfly, along with a small decorative metal wirework sculpture of the Eiffel Tower. The frames in the collection show various finishes, including natural wood and painted surfaces. White auction lot labels are visible on several items, including labels marked N8463 on the mirror glass and N5465 on the floral print.
Condition report:
The mirror plate exhibits significant signs of age and distress, with extensive foxing and silvering loss (de-silvering) across the surface, particularly concentrated in the lower half and centre. The wooden mirror frame shows surface wear, dust, and minor scuffing. The frames within the assortment show various degrees of wear, including surface scuffs and dust accumulation consistent with age and storage. The prints show some evidence of fading and occasional foxing to the paper and mounts.
