This lot comprises two antique storage pieces of United Kingdom origin. The first is a travelling steamer trunk dating to the late Victorian or early 20th-century period. It features a flat top design and is constructed from a wooden body with a dark brown paper or canvas covering, reinforced with horizontal wooden slats and iron banding. The trunk is fitted with a central circular metal lock plate, two flanking spring-loaded latches, and heavy-duty iron carry handles at the sides. The interior is lined with original decorative paper featuring a blue and white striped pattern and a stylized red, black, and white geometric border. The floor of the trunk has been partially relined with modern adhesive paper. The second item is a pine blanket chest or storage coffer of simple plank construction. It is designed with a hinged lid, a protruding base plinth, and internal iron strap hinges. A simple metal latch is fitted to the front.

The steamer trunk shows characterful wear consistent with its age and travel history, including scuffs, scratches, and visible losses to the exterior paper or canvas covering. The metal hardware exhibits significant oxidation and tarnishing throughout. The interior paper lining is aged with some peeling and surface wear. The pine blanket chest remains in sound structural condition. The exterior timber surfaces show various indentations, surface scratches, and marks commensurate with domestic use and age.
