A mixed group of memorabilia comprising items related to the Boys Brigade, naval service, and swimming achievements. The collection includes a blue woollen Boys Brigade side cap with a tartan patterned lining and a paper label reading BOYS BRIGADE SIZE 2. The cap is fitted with a silver-tone metal anchor badge on a yellow plastic mount, featuring the motto SURE and STEDFAST with the initials BB and the number 1. Accompanying the cap is a black fabric pin holder containing six circular enamel-style pins, each depicting the Boys Brigade anchor emblem against different coloured backgrounds including white, green, purple, blue, red, and gold-tone. The naval items consist of a large black felt uniform patch with gold-tone embroidery depicting a propeller, lightning bolts, and an arrowhead above the acronym WESM, alongside a gold-tone commemorative challenge coin for the submarine HMS TRENCHANT (SSN 17) featuring the motto Intercido. The swimming memorabilia includes an assortment of embroidered Kirklees M.C. Award patches with a dolphin motif, covering levels from Beginner through to Grade 5, plus a circular 33 1/3 METRES award.
Condition report:
The items are in good, used condition. The fabric patches show minor edge wear and light fraying consistent with previous attachment to uniforms. The metal badges and commemorative coin exhibit light surface scratches and minor tarnishing. The side cap shows general signs of use to the interior lining but remains structurally sound.
