A collection of United Kingdom commemorative crown coins, also known as five-shilling pieces, issued in 1965 to commemorate the passing of Sir Winston Churchill. Struck in cupro-nickel, each coin features the first laureated portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing right on the obverse, accompanied by the circular Latin inscription ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F.D. 1965, which translates to Elizabeth II by the Grace of God, Queen, Defender of the Faith. The reverse displays a profile portrait of Sir Winston Churchill facing left, designed by Oscar Nemon, with the inscription CHURCHILL at the right. One specimen is presented in a contemporary black plastic display case printed with the dates 1874 and 1965, the subject name SIR WINSTON CHURCHILL, and the denomination COMMEMORATIVE CROWN.

Condition report:
Circulated condition. All coins exhibit visible surface wear, contact marks, and scratches consistent with handling and loose storage. Several examples show extensive dark toning, tarnishing, and oxidation across both faces. The plastic display case exhibits light surface scuffing.
