Buyer's Premium:

This lot comprises two pairs of vintage prism binoculars, which are characteristic examples of mid-20th-century Japanese optical exports. The first pair is branded Hoya and is marked as a 10 x 50 Wide Angle model with a 7-degree field of view. These binoculars feature coated optics and are equipped with a Hoya Fast Focus lever mechanism on the bridge for rapid adjustment. The body is finished in black pebbled leatherette over a metal frame. Included with this pair is a branded Hoya black hard carrying case with a shoulder strap and objective lens caps. The second pair is marked Vic Omega and is specified as a 7 x 50 model with a 7.1-degree field of view and serial number 8886. This pair utilizes a standard central focusing wheel and has a textured black body covering. It is accompanied by a black hard carrying case with a red felt interior lining and a brown leather neck strap.

Condition report:

Both items are in used condition consistent with their age. The Hoya binoculars are in good cosmetic condition with minor wear to the black finish on the metal edges; the lenses appear clear but have some surface dust. The Vic Omega binoculars show more significant signs of use, including visible paint loss on the metal rims and general wear to the body covering. The brown leather neck strap on the Vic Omega pair is heavily worn and shows significant cracking, and the associated carrying case is missing its lid. The objective lenses on the Vic Omega pair show surface dust and may require internal cleaning for optimal use.
