A large rectangular wall mirror featuring an ornate Baroque-revival style frame. The frame is constructed from a wooden base with applied moulded composite ornamentation. The decorative finish is a dual-tone distressed gold and black, featuring high-relief foliate and acanthus leaf scrollwork to the outer edge, a flat gold-tone mid-section, and a bead-and-reel inner border. The reverse of the frame has a ribbed wood-effect finish and is fitted with a hardboard backing panel. The mirror plate is clear with no signs of silvering loss or foxing. A small rectangular barcode sticker is located on the bottom-left corner of the backing board.
Dimensions: 100cm x 70cm.
Condition report:
The mirror is in good functional condition. Visible defects include minor surface dust across the frame and glass. There is a small scuff or chip on the top-left corner of the frame. The mitred corners show very slight separation consistent with mass-produced frames. The piece is fitted with two D-ring brackets and a green braided polypropylene hanging cord.
