This lot features two 19th-century wooden items of British origin. The first is a miniature chest of drawers, possibly an apprentice piece or jewellery cabinet, configured with two short drawers over two long graduated drawers. It is constructed from a stained softwood, likely pine or deal, finished to resemble mahogany. The piece is fitted with eight turned ebonised wooden knobs and features a moulded edge to the top, supported on bracket feet. The second item is a mahogany document box with a central brass swan-neck carry handle mounted to the lid. The interior is red-stained and includes a removable tray divided into three compartments. The box is fitted with brass hinges and a lock escutcheon. No maker marks were identified on either piece.
Miniature chest width: approximately 38 cm.
