This lot comprises a United Kingdom World War II Defence Medal struck in cupro-nickel. The obverse depicts the bareheaded effigy of King George VI facing left. The reverse features two lions rampant flanking an oak tree topped with a royal crown, inscribed with the years 1939 and 1945 and the words THE DEFENCE MEDAL. The original silk ribbon is attached, featuring a flame-coloured centre with green edges and two thin black stripes. Significant provenance is provided by the original cardboard mailing box, addressed to Mr F. H. G. Skinner, 4 Molesham Close, West Molesey, Surrey, with O.H.M.S. and Official Paid markings.
The group also contains two royal commemorative tins. One is a circular 1953 Coronation tin for Queen Elizabeth II with a central portrait. The second is a circular hinged tin featuring the Royal Cipher G R within the Order of the Garter motto HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE.
Included in the lot is an assortment of costume jewellery and small collectibles: a boxed gold-tone bee brooch, a boxed pendant in a case marked PENDENTIF EN OR 9 CARATS – 375 ALICANTE, a silver-tone V initial brooch set with paste stones, a Celtic cross pin, a red plastic poppy pin, a gold-tone bird pin, a souvenir spoon with a child motif, a graduated cream-coloured bead necklace, a copper-tone cuff bracelet, and multiple loose buttons including brass military-style examples.

The World War II Defence Medal is in good condition with minor surface oxidation. The associated mailing box exhibits age-related toning, some staining, and wear to the corners and edges. The commemorative tins show surface scratches and wear commensurate with age. The costume jewellery and miscellaneous items show varying levels of surface wear, with potential missing stones in the paste-set brooch.
