A collection of various decorative objects led by a Royal Doulton large character jug of Sancho Pança, model D6456, dated 1956. The jug features the Royal Doulton lion and crown backstamp, copyright 1956, and registration numbers Rd No 881510, Rd No 35706, Rd No 7561, and Rd No 332/56. The group includes a novelty ceramic musical decanter shaped as a boy footballer with a cork stopper head, the base inscribed We Are The Champions with musical notation. A white commemorative ceramic pitcher for Queen Elizabeth II’s 1977 Silver Jubilee displays a transfer-printed armorial crest. The assortment also contains several vases: a tall studio pottery cylinder with black and blue-grey horizontal banded glaze, a porcelain vase with hand-painted floral sprays and a ruffled gilded rim, and a brown and cream textured bark-effect ceramic vase. Additional items comprise a circular ashtray with radiating inlaid segments of natural material such as bone or horn, a teardrop-shaped multi-coloured mosaic glass ornament, and a brown drip-glazed jug in an animalistic form.
Condition report:
The collection is in fair to good condition overall, showing typical signs of age-related wear and surface dust. The floral porcelain vase has minor wear to the gilding on the ruffled rim. The cork stopper for the musical decanter shows compression and minor degradation consistent with age. No major chips, cracks, or professional restorations are visible on the primary ceramic pieces.
